For the Valentine’s Gift class I always try to come up with something that looks nice for the guys, but is also usable. I figure guys will get more excitement out of the gift if it’s something they can actually use.
Now, my example may not look very “manly”, but that’s because I made it for me, not my husband (is that bad??) The good news is that when you come to class you can choose whatever Designer Series Paper you want to use, and nobody is going to care if you’re making it for your Valentine or someone else!
See what you think of this project.
I chose to use retired Designer Series Paper on my boxes. These are nesting boxes so they fit inside of each other when you aren’t using them or don’t want them stacked up somewhere. What do you think? I’m actually wondering if my middle son, Jaan, might try to snag them as he likes greenery and gold for his room, but the colors aren’t quite his preferred, so I might be safe. He likes a more true green like Garden Green or Old Olive instead of the Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen used here.
Speaking of Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen, do you realize these are In Colors that are scheduled to leave us when the new catalog comes out in May? These are very popular colors (making me wonder if they will every come back?) so I’m betting cardstock and other supplies will start to sell out as we get closer to April. If you like these colors, Sale-A-Bration is a wonderful time to stock up on some things!
This class starts today and goes through next week. If you have any interest in joining, you’ll want to let me know right away so I can make sure I have enough nesting boxes!
