Scrapbooking the family tree

Scrapbooking great grandparents

My creativity abounded just a little more last night, enough to get this scrapbook page done.  I’ve been wanting to do a page with pictures and information about my grandparents and a page about my husbands grandparents so our boys will have a bit of the family tree in their scrapbooks.

I sat down several times in the past and looked at these pictures, my grandparents, but had a hard time getting anywhere.  The mind tends to wander to memories and I wanted to have just the right layout.  This is actually a spin off of a card I made recently (and some of you may see be seeing it in the future at parties).  Tonight I just sat right down and put the page together with little deliberation or time needed.  It was just a case of sudden inspiration and needed to be done right then.

It is hard to see in the picture but below the Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon is some retired Prints DSP that is Always Artichoke with stripes through it.  There is also the word “family” between the trees which is from the Chateau Bella rub-ons.

My parents were kind enough to type up information about each grandparent for me including dates and memories.  It was fun to receive this information myself as I learned some things about my grandparents too.

I’m not sure when I will get the pages for my husbands grandparents and then pages for our parents but I hope those pages will come as easily as this one!  I am not used to do pages with so much script so that throws a little curve ball for me.  Perhaps if I just think of the script as another picture  . . .

Happy creating!

  1. Grandma took great interest in seeing her picture “online”.

  2. I would love to have you be Highlighted on my blog. Please e-mail me a short Bio. ( a little about you) and something you are passionate about – Stamping related please.

  3. I love the idea of doing this!! My husband and I have lost our Grandparents all within the past 3 years, so doing pages like this would be such a sweet and lovely memory of them all. I hope I may get the creativity to do this soon! 🙂
