Vintage Vogue 12×12 Scrapbook Page

I feel very honored that my dad has asked me to make a 12×12 scrapbook of family pictures and documents he has!  I consider it a privilege and I hope he and the rest of my family will like it when I’m done.  I started my mission yesterday with this page.  These are my grandparents. I’m not sure if this will actually end up as the first page of the book or not but I think it would look great there!  This is my favorite picture of those given to me to scrapbook!

With an old and treasured picture I wanted to be very careful not to ruin it.  Naturally I had to put adhesive on the back of the picture but I was very careful with these flowers.  Each flower and leaf is positioned in such a way that they are not adhered to the picture.  They are either adhered to the page or each other.

I knew I’d end up coming back to the Vintage Vogue stamp set with these colors again!  I used Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, and Always Artichoke on Very Vanilla.  I really like using the Chocolate Chip and Kraft colored Corduroy Buttons with this set for some reason.  I’m going to end up buying more of these buttons simply because I used them all with the Vintage Vogue flowers!

The “mr. & mrs.” and “Forever” stamps you see here are from the Together Forever Stampin’ Up! stamp set.  I used a variety of accessories in this corner including Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon, Mellow Moss Taffeta Ribbon, the Sale-A-Bration Scallop Trim punch and Vanilla hodgepodge hardware.

Perhaps you can tell in this picture that I wheeled the entire piece of Bravo Burgundy with the new Very Vintage jumbo wheel in Chocolate Chip.  It is subtle so as not to distract but yet break up the background some.

Thank you for stopping by.  I look forward to showing more of the pages as I get them finished.

  1. Becky, this is GORGEOUS! What a perfect layout for such a lovely, treasured photo! I want to take some time (one of these days!) and consider doing something like this. The punch detail on the edge of the paper is such a nice touch. So nice!!

  2. Now this is what scrapbooking should be! The page is very tasteful and really showcases the photo beautifully. I look forward to seeing ensuing pages. I should probably be doing something like this with my mother’s old photos!

  3. Becky what a beautiful page….I have the same exact picture of my parents! My Mom has the same hairdo and my Dad is in his uniform. How come pictures back then had a blue hue to them…
    You do awesome scrapbook pages…TFS

  4. Becky, you look so much like your Grandmother. An honor has been done to your grands and to all else. Great Work.

  5. Awesome–so definitely your dad’s parents! 🙂 You do excellent work with old pictures, Becky!
